Chely Jones is a dance educator and dance artist from Bells, TX. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Dance Education and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Texas Woman’s University. While at Texas Woman’s University, Jones was a Graduate Teaching Assistant and the Recruitment Coordinator for the Division of Dance. She recently was an adjunct at Texas Woman’s University, and co-director for the semi-pro dance team, Chosen in Rockwall, Texas. Ms. Jones is well known as a choreographer and instructor for Danceline Productions and a traveling freelance choreographer for studios and dance teams throughout the state of Texas. She has set work on teams from Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, TX. She is currently the director of the Nimitz High School Dance Department, the Vikas and Valkyries Dance Team, Kings Dance Crew, Folklòrico Club, and the Nimitz High School Cheer Teams. Ms. Jones's research is focused on hip-hop and street dance forms in the context of the commercial industry and concert stage. Her work, Paradox, was showcased and selected for the 2021 American College Dance Association Inaugural Screendance Festival Gala. In addition, Jones has performed at the Dallas Mavericks Halftime Show, Disney World, and as a backup dancer for Christian artist Aj Wray on his national tour through Colorado, California, and New York. Ms. Jones recently received the National Dance Society’s 2022 Young Dance Professional Award for her continuous work in dance education.

Anahi Lopez is a Fort Worth native. She graduated from North Crowley High School, where she was a member of the Silver Stars Drill Team. She later attended Texas Wesleyan University, where she was a four-year member of the Gold Line Dance Team and served as Head Captain during her senior year. During her collegiate career, she competed at DTU in Orlando, Florida, and helped lead her team to an NDA National Championship in Daytona, Florida. Prior to joining Nimitz, Lopez worked in public education as a physical education coach and elementary dance team director, where she developed and led student athletes and performers while fostering confidence, discipline, teamwork, and school pride through the performing arts. At Nimitz, Lopez supports the Vikas and Valkyries Dance Team, Kings Dance Crew, Folklórico Club, and the Nimitz High School Cheer Teams. She is committed to cultivating a culture of excellence, creativity, and inclusivity while helping students develop strong technical skills, leadership qualities, and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts. Lopez is passionate about empowering students to reach their highest potential both on and off the performance floor and is honored to contribute to the proud tradition of Nimitz High School.
